Visitor Center Hours

April 1 - Sept. 30, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily
Oct. 1 - March 31, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday ONLY)

Park Hours

March 1 - Oct 31, 6 a.m. to official sunset
Nov 1 - February 28, 7 a.m. to official sunset

NOTES:

  • Interpretive programs are offered year-round for families and individuals of all ages, from preschoolers to seniors. In addition, during the school year, educational programs are offered to schools, home-schoolers, scouts, and other organized groups.To reach the Naturalist Staff call 301-972-5991.
  • Our Pontoon Boat offers public rides on weekends through Labor Day. Interpretive programs on the pontoon boat continue through October, check the summer/fall guide for upcoming offerings.

umbrella with rain Weather Related Cancellations Notice: During inclement weather, Nature Facilities follow Montgomery County Public School closures, delayed openings and early releases. If school is closed for inclement conditions, all children's programs are cancelled. Cancellation of Adult programs is determined on a case-by-case basis. Please call the nature facility to check on adult program status, 301-972-5991.

   New at the center!

The sign for our wildlife meadow, located next to the visitor center, has been installed. Volunteers have planted flowers in the meadow & in the beds around the center to attract the butterflies & hummingbirds. Please stop by to see their beautiful work.The Monarch's are here!
