Description

Several access improvements are proposed to increase student safety at Roberto Clemente Middle School, located at 18808 Waring Station Road.  These improvements include:  (1)a new vehicular entrance from Waring Station Road to the faculty parking lot and bus drop-off lanes, and the separation of the faculty parking lot/bus drop-off lanes from the student drop-off lane;  (2)the widening of

the bus lane from two to  three lanes to allow circulation around the busses during loading;  (3) a concrete "drive-through" aisle for emergency vehicular access between the two vehicular lanes;  and (4) eliminating the two existing sidewalks leading to the school through the center of the facility along the parking lot's east site.  (Pedestrians will have safer access to the school from sidewalks along the north and south entrances.)
