Gaithersburg Master Plan
The Montgomery County Planning Department is updating the 1985 Gaithersburg Vicinity Master Plan and the 1990 Shady Grove Study Area Master Plan. Master plans set forth the vision for a community and attempt to guide development and use of land in an area for 10-20 years. Key elements addressed by a master plan include zoning, transportation, pedestrian and bicycle networks, environmental issues, parks and community facilities, and the preservation of historic sites.
