Locating Montgomery County
Montgomery County, Maryland is adjacent to the Washington DC's northwest boundary. It is bounded to the west by the Potomac River and connected to Fairfax County, Virginia by the Capital Beltway. To the east is our partner in the bi-county Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission: Prince George's County, Maryland. To the northwest along I-270 is Frederick County, Maryland and to the northeast along Route 29 (and I-95 to Baltimore) is Howard County, MD.
Most of Montgomery County is less than a hour by car from the nation's capital, downtown Baltimore, Annapolis, and much of northern Virginia. Interstate I-270 provides excellent acess to northwestern destinations (Pittsburgh and west) while I-95 north connects us to Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. Air travel options include Washington National and Batimore-Washington International Airports as well as the Montgomery County Airpark.
