Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Park Trails

MLK Jr. Rec. Park  Trails Map Locator Description

This 95-acre park was acquired by M-NCPPC in 1976. Many visitors enjoy the picnic area and the small lake.

Martin Luther King Jr. Heart Smart Trail. HeartSmart Trail
Follow this level 0.8 mile hard surface path around the park. Bronze medallions are embedded in the path every 1/10 of a mile so walkers may track the distance they travel. This HeartSmart trail is 0.8 miles in length and starts at the kiosk by the path next to the parking lot just past the Swim Center. Just north of the Beltway and east of New Hampshire Ave.1120 Jackson Rd., Silver Spring, MD

Trail length/surface

There are 2.8 miles of hard surface trails in the Park that also connect to the Paint Branch Stream Valley Park Trail.

Trail characteristics

Easy to follow, gentle grades. The trails wind in and around the whole park and its sport facilities.
